This is the psychiatric emergency room of Bronx Lebanon Hospital.  It can accept 9.39 (involuntary) hospitalizations. This is a hospital based program which offers/provides access to crisis outreach, intervention, and residential services; and/or provides beds for the extended observation (up to 72 hours) to anyone age 5+ who needs emergency mental health services.

Before a family member was admitted, a medical professional asked me if this was the only place that the transferring hospital could find, in a very uneasy, if this was my family, I wouldn't want them here, kind of way. I knew by looking at the place and then hearing some of the staff speak, I definitely knew I didn't want a family or friend to have to be at that hospital. This is referring to pediatrics. There is a lack of communication with staff on the care of the patient when each patient has a chart so it shouldn't be too difficult. The problem is many well reputable hospitals don't have a CPEP or are full so people are left with no other choice. Then the hospital also threatened to take me to court when I wanted to transfer to a different hospital myself. The dr. put thoughts into my family members head by asking certain questions that they might not have even been thinking about, which were my feelings about the hospital in which I didn't discuss in front of the patient, and the
