I was lucky to find a facility like this

My son was a difficult to manage, difficult to place adolescent. Jail or a State hospital were the only options I was aware of until we found this hospital. They treated my son with dignity and a caring attitude. His doctor was a former med school teacher and couldn't have been more available and seemed to know a great deal. I saw this other review, and if my son were using drugs, I would want him checked thoroughly to make sure he didn't have anywhere hidden on him. Thanks to Stony Lodge, and I hope they stay open taking the lost kids no one else seems to care about!

I worked at stony there was never any pt locked in dark rooms or ppl miss treating the patients the staff for the most part are hard working ppl that really care about the kids we worked with. If injections where given it was due to a pts out of control behavior not for just any reason.....a lot of good ppl work there and that needs to be noticed

The stony lodge serves some of the most challenging children in New York. Kids who certainly would have done damage, caused problems to themselves and/or others had they not received care. The staff is the best, most caring group of individuals who put their heart and soul into helping. Not everyone is ready to be helped, but for those who want help, or are on the fence it can be a life changing experience. thank you stony lodge for helping all the kids, families, communities and New York State

My son was denied access to this hospital because he is in diapers (at night) and is 8 years old. We were in a Psych unit for 24 hours waiting to see where he could be placed and they would not allow him to be placed there. My son has developmental delays along with behavior problems and health issues. After reading some of the other reviews, this may have been a good thing that hea was not admitted there.

Horribly ran facility, not at the fault of staff, some obviously needed better training, others really showed their love for the job they did. I saw too many other patients over medicated and mistreated when in crisis. The staff for the most part were understaning and caring, the nurses and supervisors were just horrible to both the couselors and patients. I was on the North and the supervising nurses cared more about getting attention from male staff then doing their job to help me get better. Worst experience I ever had in a hospital for treatment. Those nurses need psych help more than I do.

This hospital mistreats their patients by violating the rights of the human when I got there i experienced someone being injected with a needle by force right in front of me I was also searched while naked they also opened up my gluteous maximus to see if anything was in there . It was more like jail then a hospital for treatment there were also other people who were kept inside of a dark room if they did something wrong this hospital needs to be investigated there is alot of sneaky things going on up there and no one goes to visit because it is isolated.

disgrace

an absolute disgrace to work here. the facility was run horribly. the patients were in danger at all times. set up for failure. mandating staff occurred on a day to day basis where money was taken out from employee checks if they refused to stay. forcing someone to work because the two females you hired in your staffing department ruined the scheduling because they sat there all day eating and talking trash about the staff? a lot of illegal stuff happened there. glad it closed down and hope that the people running it will never get a chance to run another hospital again.

As a former employee I saw this coming. It's unfortunate that patients weren't given the care that they were admitted for, and rightfully deserved. As for Mental Health Associates, mandating was the norm.I could never plan anything after my shift because 9 times out of 10, I was working a double without even being prepared for it. No cell phone within buildings was also a problem because staff would use them in front of patients. There were a lot double standards and things that didn't run smoothly. I'm glad I moved on.

If You Love Your Kid Or People in General And You want Them To Get Help Send them somewhere else. Boycott this facility. the person who gave this hell hole fife stars has no idea what this facility does. they need to be investigated and shut down.

This is a hospital that has very low standards when it comes to hiring. They hire people that has no experience in dealing with mica patients and end up having verbal/phisical altercations or personal relationships with the kids because they do not know how to handle them. Stony lodge has enforced an abusive method in restraining and de-escalating the patients. This is a inappropriate hospital with know guidance, warmth or care for any staff nor patients that enters the facility.
